Sources, review, and corrections
How does Listing Curator check its guidance?
Listing Curator publishes product explanations and practical notes about property images. We aim to separate what a tool can do from what research or law actually establishes.
Which sources do we trust?
For legal requirements, we prefer the current text published by a government body. Our California altered-image guide links to Business and Professions Code section 10140.8 and the official bill history. For research, we link to the paper or institution rather than repeating a claim without context.
We describe the population, date, and subject of a study where those details matter. A study about virtual tours is not evidence that AI virtual staging changes a home's sale price. We keep that distinction visible when discussing research on listing media.
California Business and Professions Code ยง 10140.8How do we describe product capabilities?
We explain visible product behavior and known limitations. Generated images and video can change details or contain errors. We do not describe an AI-generated image as a factual record of a property's condition. We do not promise a particular sale price, buyer response, conversion rate, or time on market.
Prices, plans, supported features, and provider behavior can change. Product pages should be checked at the time of use. Examples are not testimonials or customer results unless they are clearly identified and supported.
When do we update or correct a page?
We review time-sensitive legal guidance against its cited primary source and show a review date. If a cited law, source, or product behavior changes, we update the relevant text and the date after checking the new information. If a reader finds an error, the correction should be made in the page rather than hidden in a separate notice.
