How does coin pricing work out per photo?
Apply Design sells coins, and each job costs a set number of them. Auto staging a 2D image costs 1.5 coins and DIY costs 1 coin. With coins listed at $7 to $10, that comes to:
- Auto staging: $10.50 to $15 per image.
- DIY: $7 to $10 per image.
Listing Curator charges one credit per staged photo: $3.99 for a single photo, $2.90 in a 10-pack down to $1.98 in a 60-pack, or $1.38 on the 50-photo monthly plan. That is less per photo than Apply Design's auto staging and its DIY option, even at the low coin price ($7). Our virtual staging cost guide puts these numbers next to physical staging.
Auto staging, DIY or guided AI: which suits you?
Apply Design lists two ways to stage: auto staging and DIY. As the name suggests, DIY involves more of your own input; check their site for exactly how it works. If you like hands-on control over a room, that option is worth a look.
Listing Curator takes a middle path. You choose the room, one of 11 styles and a mode, and you can add a note like “keep the sofa against the left wall.” If one detail is off after it's staged, type the change and only that changes. You don't place furniture yourself, but you're not stuck with whatever comes back either.
Apply Design's pricing refers to “2D images,” so if you need other formats, ask them what they offer. Listing Curator works only with 2D listing photos and does not make 3D renders or floor plans.
Which is better for staging a whole vacant home?
A vacant home is where per-photo costs add up. Staging 10 rooms with Apply Design's auto staging takes 15 coins, or $105 to $150. On Listing Curator it's one $29 pack.
Consistency matters as much as price. Buyers scroll the whole gallery, and a farmhouse kitchen next to an industrial living room reads as two different homes. Listing Curator's whole-listing staging takes up to 10 photos of one home and stages them in one matching style. With any tool, you can get close by picking one style and using it for every room. Apply Design's pricing page doesn't say whether it offers a whole-home option, so ask them.
For the rooms to start with, NAR's 2025 Profile of Home Staging found sellers' agents most often stage the living room (91%), primary bedroom (83%), dining room (69%) and kitchen (68%).
Does 15 minutes vs a minute or two matter?
For a single photo, not much. Fifteen minutes is fast. It adds up when you're trying styles. If you want to see a living room in three styles before choosing, a minute or two per try keeps you in one sitting. On Listing Curator those previews are free and watermarked, so you only pay for the one you download.
